§i·what koine labs is
A third of human life is currently spent in unconscious dormancy, where time and value are biologically trapped. The vocation of the company is to bring them into reach — to build the infrastructure of both the world awake and the world asleep, and the interface that makes them one.
We hold time to be the fundamental principle of reality, and the one most efficiently trapped. Our work is to extend accessible time itself, and the work done within it. The name koine — the shared language of the ancient Mediterranean — is a forward bet: that the waking and sleeping selves will one day need a common substrate, and that someone will have to build it.
§ii·the current bet
Lullaby · The Koine Daybook
A daily companion that bridges waking life and sleep. Each day it ingests biometric trends, calendar context, and journaled intent. Each night it plans targeted reactivation cues for the user's slow-wave sleep, tied to what mattered today. Each morning it measures recall, mood, and focus, then updates a personal model of what works for that specific brain.
The honest claim is small: your brain consolidates a meaningful fraction more of what you encountered today, and we can measure it.
§iii·frontiers
Lullaby — Sleep & Pattern Generation
Converting sleep from biological maintenance to user-directed cognitive work. First instrument: the Koine Daybook.
I-Models — Identity as Stimulus-Indexed Context
The self treated not as a unified entity but as a network of stimulus-activated contexts. The unit of intervention is the I-Model, not the person.
Maya — Perception as a Programmable Pipeline
A three-layer translation of raw signal into semantics, and the recursive feedback loop that makes the internal monologue itself a stimulus.
The Koine — A Shared Substrate for Minds
Twenty to fifty years out: a common semantic interface between cognitive systems. The vision that gives the company its name.
